The Clerk attended Holyport Green this morning with Cllr Kneen and two Police Officers, and the eviction notice was served on the unauthorised encampment at 11.00am.
The occupiers have until 4.00pm today, 31st July 2026, to leave the site. If the occupiers do not leave, bailiffs will be engaged and have confirmed they would be able to attend the site tomorrow. On that basis, we expect the site to be clear by the end of Saturday 1 August, subject to final operational arrangements.
The Clerk will then attend the site on Monday to inspect the rocks and access points, so that options for preventative measures can be discussed with Council on 24 August 2026.
The Clerk will also arrange for the site to be cleared of any litter once it has been vacated.
The Police visited local residents and businesses today to ensure that they were updated.
