It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of our colleague and fellow councillor, Leo Walters.
A parish and local councillor for more than 50 years, Leo described himself as a Conservative with an independent mind. He was a strong and steadfast defender of the green belt and the integrity of our villages.
His commitment to public service was remarkable, and he continued to serve despite failing health. It is therefore fitting that his long political career came to an end not at the polling booth, but in quieter circumstances.
His fellow councillors and colleagues will remember his robust, direct and often memorable contributions to Parish business. We always knew where Leo stood on any issue.
He will be greatly missed. Rest in peace, Leo.
