19/06/2025 9:28 AM Please find Bray Parish Council response below to the above Licensing application:

1 Public Safety - the application will encourage increased traffic to a venue at a time of day when the roads are already busy with commuters using the village as a route to the Windsor Road and residents preparing to leave for their place of work and on the school run.
There is also increased pedestrian traffic with many families walking their children to the local schools on pathways that are narrow and often require people to step into the road.
The venue is sited on a very sharp bend which requires a great deal of caution when driving and everything should be done to limit the amount of traffic that uses this road. The venue also has very little parking outside the establishment and will require the use of the carpark across the road which involves a sharp turn just before the apex of a blind bend.

All the above is a serious threat to public safety and a further increase in traffic on an already overburdened and hazardous village High Street.

2. This is a small historically important village and is not an appropriate place where alcohol should be sold outside of the usual licensing hours.
The Hinds Head is situated in the centre of the village next in the middle of a residential area and this increase in the licensing hours will cause a great deal of nuisance in terms of noise and increased traffic for the residents who already have to put up with a lot of disruption form the operation of the Hinds Head.
There are also other licenced establishments in Bray and the granting of this application would encourage others to follow suit and create a living environment more akin to a town centre than a village.

The granting of the licence will cause an unnecessary public nuisance.

With kind regards

Cllr Kneen
