After a local resident called Bray Parish Council this morning to report a set of traffic lights at the Ascot Road end of Holyport Road we contacted RBWM immediately as there was no entry on One.Network.
They immediately sent an inspector out to find out more and it transpired it was an emergency and they did have permission.
The problem has since been identified and the traffic lights removed so the traffic should flow more smoothly.
Please do call us if you are concerned about anything out of the ordinary and if in our power, we will try to address your concerns.
During the conversation with RBWM I mentioned comments on Facebook about drivers removing cones and driving through a CLOSED ROAD signs at the junction of Holyport Road and Windsor Road. It was pointed out that as well as being a dangerous thing to do, it would invalidate the drivers insurance and also open them up to prosecution by the Police.
Holyport Road is closed between Windsor Road and Earlsfield. Cadent have a licence to close this section until the 29th November 2024. They are replacing a gas pipe. The current pipe runs along the side of the road, across the roundabout and under the Motorway bridge. The new gas pipe will allow for the new roundabout, due to be installed in the New Year. I am advised it is anticipated to follow the hedge line from outside 58 Windsor Road and join Holyport Road around where the 30mph is painted on the road. Another pipe will be connected and join the existing pipe at Earlsfield, while a 3rd pipe will head towards the Motorway Bridge.
It’s essential work that has to be done and we are sorry if it disrupts your normal daily journey.
We are happy to address any questions you may have by email.
Thank you.
